Chex Quest – Bizarre Doom Mod

Just found this odd video of a Doom mod based on an actual game found in Chex cereal way back in 1996.

Chex Quest was a free game that you got with the cereal, it used the doom engine. This is not the game itself but a total conversion made to mimic it.

Warning – NSFW Language. If you’re at work or something, be sure to mute it :)

As if that weren’t enough, they actually made two sequels called Chex Quest 2 and Chex Quest 3. Want more? There is actually a Chex Quest fansite and wiki where you can download the hacks and get your fill of this bizarre Doom based cereal freebie.

Nintendo M82 Demo Unit

I found some interesting information about the M-82 “GAME SELECTABLE WORKING PRODUCT DISPLAY” used for in store displays in the 80s and 90s. What makes the M-82 really special? Well according to nesworld.com, most M82 units were returned to Bergsala to be destroyed when shops stopped selling NES games.

Here’s a pretty decent video I found that shows off its capability. Very cool stuff!

CoD4 MW2 Teaser

Looks like your typical “we don’t have anything to show you so we’ll just mash up some Splinter Cell green with some FEAR silhouette scariness and call it a trailer” teaser trailer. Ok, maybe not so typical, but it didn’t give any real hints about the stuff we really care about like weapons (am I going to get shot from across the map by some half brain dead 12 year old Canadian wielding some bullet curving sniper rifle from Wanted?) and didn’t answer the question in the back of everyone’s mind: “Will I need a rig that plays Crysis at 1080p in order to run this?”. This is the official site where you can pause the video and analyze it frame by frame if you have nothing better to do.
Nov 10, 2009 should have everyone scrambling to their local Gameslave™, assuming they don’t release any dealbreaker trailers… or forget the fact that this is IW’s last chance to prove themselves in the minds of many a PC gamer (read: this better not suck).

On a completely unrelated note, what the hell is wrong with you people…
